Biography Alexander Kopilevich was born in 1982 in city Lvov (Lviv), Ukraine. In Ukraine graduated from the school of music, specializing as pianist, and graduated from general education school. From the age of eleven learned computer technologies, worked with variety of legendary computers such as Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Has joined a local technology team where worked with IBM PC 8088 and 80286 compatible machines and studied DOS and BASIC programming. In 1997 moved to Chicago and later became the United States Citizen. Alexander Kopilevich received his Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from DePaul University of Chicago, Illinois. At DePaul was a member of CSS (Computer Science Society), where gained additional IT knowledge from participating in CSS activities. Employment Currently Alex consults for various software development companies. His area of expertise is in development of Web and Windows applications using Visual Studio.NET, SQL Server 2000, JavaScript and XML. Additionally Alex worked with PDA software development, PC hardware and networking configurations, and troubleshooting of Windows operating systems and most of the Microsoft’s applications. Knowledge Object Oriented programming (Java, C++, C# and Visual Basic.NET) and Web programming (ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript, VBScript, XML, SGML, XSLT and IIS web server). Usage and configuration of operating systems like DOS, UNIX, LINUX, WINDOWS and Microsoft (Visual Studio.NET, Visual Studio 6, Visual SourceSafe, SQL server, Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, FrontPage, Outlook), WinCvs, InstallShield Tools, Macromedia Studio and Seagate Crystal Reports. Works Designed and developed speech recognition Intelligent Commuting System using Visual Basic 6.0 and Microsoft Speech SDK SAPI 5.1. Designed Entity Relationships Diagrams and Data Flow Diagrams for catering business database. Developed SQL store procedures for various types of quires. Integrated Visual Studio.NET applications with Access and SQL Server databases using ADO.NET. Wrote GUI Java applications using Java Applets and Java Swing. Designed and Developed Video Renting Store Database using JDBS and MS Access. Practiced Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, JDBC and SQLJ using Oracle 8 database on the remote UNIX server. Created syntax and semantics for programming language’s grammar and customization, using functional language Standard ML of New Jersey. Interests Major interests are in Object Oriented, Functional and Web programming. Personal areas of interests are Artificial Intelligence (in particular: knowledge representation, logical agents, planning and probabilistic reasoning), coding ideas in ML and LISP functional programming and multimedia designs using Adobe and Macromedia products and latest hardware technologies.
